To Lead Is to Serve

Attending D67 Fall Conference, November 19 – 20, 2016 at Taichung City was one more marvelous experience! My stage time at Dinner Party & Award Presentation, though brief, was a specific grace I ever had!

June 23, 2016 is unforgettable! I was thrilled to receive the new DTM recognition. To complete both the leadership and communication tracks is challenging, yet the rewards and benefits are beyond words. Pleased with plaque, I am particularly indebted to many seasoned, model Toastmasters leaders who led, inspired, and encouraged me on my Toastmasters journey!

Joining Toastmasters is the wisest choice! Back to 2001, the honorable Toastmaster Dr. Yu Yuh-chao – former Vice Principle & Dean of the College of Humanity and Liberal Arts at

National Chiayi University – together with other sponsors chartered CYTC in Lin-sun Campus at NCYU. It was the first and the only Toastmasters club in Chiayi City then. I was honored to be one of the charter members, and have always been an active member in CYTC ever since. I am currently a returning club President.

Passionate and dedicated, I always remember the “Toastmaster’s Promise”. I bear the four Toastmasters core values: RESPECT, INTEGRITY, SERVICE, and EXCELLENCE in mind. Monthly Toastmaster is my favorite. I say “YES” whenever there are role assignments for me whether they belong to area, division or district level. Over the years, I served as Secretary, Vice President of Education, club President, and Area K3 Governor. I benefit a lot from participating in and supporting many D67 events including Spring and Fall conferences. In addition, I am pleased to sponsor SYTC in 2005 and NCYU TC in 2014. Attending the 74th International Convention in Toronto, Canada as a First Timer in 2005, with other respected members from D67 including Y.H. Chen, DTM; Dick Fu, DTM; George Yen, DTM (International President 2013-2014); and Grace Shi, DTM (D67 Governor 2011-2012)…etc., is the most exciting learning experience.

Supporting and sharing Toastmasters learning experience is highly satisfying and rewarding. “To Lead Is to Serve”, I believe. Being grateful for both the benefits I gained and the skills I developed, I always want to keep on learning and serving at Toastmasters clubs.
