Attaining Distinguished Toastmasters recognition has never been my top priority. I guess this is one of the reasons why it took me so long. The journey itself and the people I have met has been far more rewarding than achieving this award. I am grateful for all the friendship I had in Toastmasters, the amazing individuals here have inspired me to improve further, lead me to places I have never imagined, experience the things I have never thought of and even meet the love of my life. I have constantly challenged myself by joining competitions, won and lost a whole lot and matured along the way. I have learned to accept losses, move on, improve, reach out to mentors and persist. I have learned to lead and be led at times of difficulties when the club membership is at its lowest point. I have learned to give the leadership reign to incoming leaders and guide them as needed. I have enjoyed so much in the past years and I will continue to enjoy my Toastmasters experience as I embark on the new Pathways program. Looking forward to another 13 years:) |
