Contest chair, ladies and gentlemen. If you have a chance to be anyone in the world, who would you want to be? This is a very interesting question because we all like to complain: “I am not good enough”. I used to really like to complain myself, especially about my appearance. One day I was talking to my boyfriend.
(主持人，各位女士先生們。如果你有一個機會可以變成世界上任何一個人，你會想要變成誰呢？這是一個非常有趣的問題，因為我們所有的人都喜歡抱怨：「唉！我不夠好。」 我從前是一個非常喜歡抱怨自己的人，尤其是抱怨我的外表。有一天，我在跟我男朋友聊天)

“Baby, do you think I am beautiful?”
“Of course, you are the hottest girl in my heart. Always make me  
 （pause）on fire!”
“Oh, come on, look at me! Small eyes, flat nose, dark skin, fat ass,
  and most importantly….only A cup.”

“So what? I still love you.”
“You are strange!…..”
(「寶貝，你覺得我漂亮嗎？」
 「當然！你是心中最辣的女生。總是能讓我(停頓)慾火焚身！」
 「拜託，看看我！小眼睛、扁鼻子、黑皮膚、大屁股，更重要的是…只有A罩杯。」
 「所以呢？我還是很愛你的啊！」
 「…你好奇怪..！」)

Although my boyfriend said he still loves me, but I knew he just wanted to stop me(pause) nagging. I was lack of confidence because I didn’t think myself as a pretty and attractive girl. One of my platitudes was “I want to be like other people” I want to be like 林志玲, her eyes are big and beautiful; I want to be like Jolin, her nose is straight; I want to be like Angelina Jolie, then I can have her sexy lips. If I can be like these dream models, I believe that all men will ask me to marry them and all women will (pause) HATE me.

 (雖然我的男朋友說他依然愛我，但我知道他只是想要我不要在(停頓)碎碎念。我從來就不覺得自己是個漂亮和吸引人的女孩，因此我總是缺少自信。在我眾多的口頭禪裡，有一句「我想要變成其他人」。我想要變得跟林志玲一樣，她有一雙又大又美的眼睛；我想要成為蔡依林，她有一個尖挺的鼻子；我想要變成安吉莉娜裘莉，這樣一來我就可以擁有她性感的嘴唇。如果我可以變成夢想中的樣子，我相信所有的男人都會搶著娶我，而所有的女人都會(停頓，奸笑)恨我。

I always thought that appearance is everything. Until few years ago, I met my high school music teacher, Mrs. Huang. I remember the first time my friends and I saw her in the music classroom, we were all shocked by her blind eyes. Her eyes were all white and turbid, and she didn’t wear sun glasses to hide her blind eyes. We were doubting that can she play instrument or not? How come a blind person becomes our music teacher? But then she put her hands on the piano, beautiful and fluent music started to echo in the classroom. After finishing the play, she “looked” at us and said “ I don’t care what were you thinking when the first time you see me, and I am not afraid of showing you the real me. Nice to meet you students, I’m your music teacher, and I am happy to tell you that I am blind.”
(我總是認為外表就是一切。一直到幾年前，我遇見了我的高中音樂老師，黃老師。我記得第一次朋友和我見到她在音樂教室的情景，我們驚訝於她失明的雙眼。她的眼睛全白而且渾沌，而她沒有戴上太陽眼鏡去遮掩雙眼。我們在懷疑她到底會不會彈琴？一個雙眼失明的人怎麼可以來當音樂老師？接著黃老師將她的雙手放在鋼琴上，悅耳且悠揚的琴聲回響在教室裡。演奏完後，她「看」著我們說：「我不在乎當你第一眼看到我時的想法，我也不會害怕展現我真實的一面。很高興認識你們，我是你們的音樂老師，我也能大方的告訴你，我看不見。」)

Her confidence of showing and being herself is the reason why the students love her so much. Compare to me, I’ve never though about being myself before because I always looked at the bad sides of myself, and kept grumbling that god didn’t create everyone equally. But if I use different points of view to see the unequal situation, then I realize one very simple thing is (pause) no one is perfect.
 (她自信的展現自己和做自己，是學生們喜歡她的最大原因。回頭看看我，我從來就沒有想過要做我自己，因為我總是注意自己不好的一面，然後抱怨上天沒有平等的創造每一個人。但是，如果我用不一樣的角度去看這個不平等，我赫然了解到一個非常簡單的事實(停頓)沒有人是完美的。)

Everyone was born unique and special, everybody has advantages and disadvantages, and every person has something that he or she is good at. Take myself for example, I am not the girl that you will feel “Wow, she’s hot!” when the first time you see me. But when I come on the stage and make my speech, this is my show time! I will try my best to catch your attention. Are you looking at me? Definitely! You can come closer, closer, and closer.
 (每個人都是唯一且特別的，每個人都有優點和缺點，每一個人都有他們的專長。拿我自己當例子，當你們第一次看到我時，你不會發出「哇！這女孩好正點！」但是當我站上著個舞台並且呈現我的演講時，這就是我表現的時刻！我會用盡一切的去抓住你們的注意力。你在看我嗎？當然！你可以靠近一點，近一點，再近一點！)
　

Now, not only my attitude change, but also my platitude. I stop saying “I want to be like other people”, instead I said “I want to be myself.” I used to feel bad about my small eyes, flat nose, dark skin, fat ass, and (pause) A cup, but now I am proud of them. I have Asian single-eyelid eyes, cute nose, healthy color skin, sexy ass and（pause）good shape A cup. It’s time for all of you to change your attitude, too. Stop complaining “I’m ugly, I’m bald, I’m nobody.” Instead you say “I’m hot, I have stylish no hair style, I speak excellent English” Even though we are not as stunning as林志玲, Jolin, or Angelina Jolie, but hey! This is us! The real us! If we do change our look, we are not ourselves anymore.
 (現在，不只是我的態度變了，我的口頭禪也變了。我不再說：「我想要變成其他人」我開始說：「我想要做我自己。」我曾經為自己的小眼睛、扁鼻子、黑皮膚、大屁股和(停頓)A罩杯感到難過，但我現在感到非常的驕傲。我有屬於亞洲的單眼皮眼睛、可愛的鼻子，健康的膚色，性感的屁股和(停頓)好胸型的A罩杯。現在也該換你們改變態度了，不要在抱怨「我好醜、我禿頭、我什麼人都不是」，你們應該說「我很辣，我有流行的光頭，而且我講一口流利的英文」雖然我們不像林志玲、蔡依林、安吉莉娜裘莉這麼漂亮。嘿！這就是我們啊！真正的我們！如果我們真的去改變了我們的面貌，我們就不再是真正的自己。
