"Fa Fa" on This 88th Birthday of Toastmasters
「一路發發」，同賀國際演講會88歲生日。

Congratulations on the occasion of 2012 Fall Conference at the newly built New Taipei City Government building! The 1400 seat auditorium is probably the biggest venue D67 ever had for its conference in its 2 decade history.
恭喜2012年秋季大會將在全新的新北市市政府大樓隆重登場。大禮堂可容納1400人，堪稱是過去20年來，中華民國國際演講協會最大規模的大會場地。

This year is also the 88th year of Toastmasters founding by Dr. Ralph Smedley in 1924. 88 is also a very auspicious number in Chinese numerology. It rhymes with “Fa Fa” in Chinese meaning double prosperity. Indeed much good changes have been happening to our organization. Toastmasters International is now a truly worldwide organization, incorporating the districts of DNARS into 14 Regions globally. (Remember the term which stood for Districts Not Assigned to Regions?)
由史邁德利博士博士創辦的國際演講會，今年88歲了。88對中國人來說是非常吉祥的數字，聽起來就像「發發」，代表雙倍繁榮。國際演講會歷經了諸多制度變革，原先不屬於區域的地區總會經過整合後，現今全世界的地區總會與分會被劃分為14個區域。

We have had a rebranding that unifies our organizational image, from Sri Lanka to Spain and from Texas to Taiwan. We also have a refocus on leadership with our new tagline, “Toastmasters: Where Leaders are made.” These initiatives among others have positioned our wonderful organization for renewed revitalization and relevance to meet the challenges of our fast changing world. So let us “Fa Fa” on this 88th birthday of Toastmasters!
國際演講會經過品牌重塑後，不論是斯里蘭卡，西班牙，德州或是台灣，都使用同樣的形象標誌。為了重新聚焦於領導訓練，我們也打造了全新標語-「國際演講會:領袖的搖籃」。種種革新作法替這個非凡組織注入了滿滿活力，讓我們更能因應世界日新月異所帶來的挑戰。國際演講會88歲生日，讓我們一起「發發」，共同慶賀。
