台湾桃園成功日本語演説会会長游碧森様日本熊本トーストマスターズクラブ会長乗富あずさ様悠久のロマンにあふれる桃園郷で台湾成功演説会十周年及び日本熊本トーストマスターズクラブ二十周年記念合同慶祝会が開催されますことを、心からお祝い申し上げます。成功日本語演説会は国際トーストマスターズから1998年4月1日に設立許可を受け、同年6月6日に正式に成立した会であり、他方、熊本トーストマスターズクラブは1988年6月1日に設立許可を受けて成立した会であると伺っています。本日のすばらしい記念合同慶祝会が開催されるに先立って、ビックリするような提案が成功演説会から持ち上がりました。その提案のいきさつは、次のようでした。本年五月、広島市で開催された国際トーストマスターズ・ディストリクト76春季大会2008に参加された成功演説会会長の林秋蓮さん、次期会長予定者の游碧森さん、顧問格の李向慈さん（いずれも当時の肩書き。）他会員の方々から熊本クラブ関係者に対し、台湾への帰途、熊本において熊本クラブの方々と交歓会をもちたいとの申し入れがあり、熊本クラブでは喜んで応対しました。成功演説会では「成功国際日本語演説会2008特刊」という立派な冊子を用意し、熊本の出席者に配られ、10周年記念大会への参加を勧誘されました。その上、台湾の桃園と九州の熊本とは距離的にも近い位置にあり、かつ双方とも日本語クラブであることから、できれば相互に訪問しあえる関係になればうれしいということでした。このような中で、「熊本も20周年」と言うことが話題に上り、とんとん拍子に「桃園で合同祝賀会を」となりました。もっとも、各会に持ち帰り、役員会を経て正式に決まった、と伺っています。終わりに当たりまして、ディストリクト76ディビジョンE管内の会員を代表して、改めて創立十周年と二十周年のお慶びを申し上げ、新たな十年の成功を祈念するとともに、両クラブの友好が深まることを念願し、お祝いの言葉と致します。

Dear Both Members of Present and Past, Congratulations on the 10th Anniversary of the Success Japanese Toastmasters Club, District 67, and the 20th Anniversary of the Kumamoto Toastmasters Club, District 76. The Success Club was chartered on 6 June 1998, on the other hand the Kumamoto Club, 1 June 1988. Both are specialized in Japanese spoken clubs. Surprising proposal was offered by the Success Club delegates – incumbent President 林秋蓮さん, incoming President游碧森さん, Advisor 李向慈さん and members – last May en route to Kumamoto, on their way of post District 76 Spring Conference tour. They had an informal good will meeting between Success Japanese and Kumamoto Club members at a tea room in a hotel near Kumamoto Railway Station. What I say surprising proposal is this: Sudden change of their plan from inviting Kumamoto members to their 10th anniversary ceremony to a spur-of-the-moment plan on The Joint Anniversary Ceremony & Party at Taoyuan. On behalf of Division E, District 76 members, I would like to congratulate you all on your both single and double decade anniversaries, and hope you will continue inspiring us for another ten years, and keeping sister clubs for ever. 台灣成功日語演說會十週年和日本熊本日語演說會二十週年能夠在充滿著悠久傳奇的桃園舉辦聯合慶祝大會一事，我由衷地祝賀。台灣成功日語演說會是在一九八八年四月一日，經美國總會認可設立，並於同年六月六日正式成立，今天能說在桃園舉辦前所未有的慶祝大會，容我細說台灣成功日語演說會提出驚人方案的來龍去脈。今（二○○八）年五月國際演說會76（日本）區在廣島市舉辦2008年國際演說會春季大會時，台灣成功演說會會長林秋蓮女士、繼任會長游碧森女士、會員李柯碧女女士、日本京都演說會創會會長李向慈女士及平和演說會前會長黃俊嘉先生向熊本演說會友提出回台灣前，希望拜訪熊本日語演說會，並想與他們交換意見。當時熊本日語演說會欣然接受，並歡迎台灣成功演說會會員來訪。熊本歡迎會時，台灣成功日語演說會贈送熊本日語演說會若干本精製的『成功國際日本語演說會2008年特刊』，並邀請熊本日語演說會參加成功日本語演說會十週年慶祝會。台灣桃園與日本熊本在距離上很近，而二會都屬日本語演說會，藉此機緣增進彼此的關係，往後可以經常往來，豈不是美事一樁。在這樣彼此交換意見中，浮出熊本日本語演說會二十週年的話題，於是大夥歡天喜地地做了結論，到台灣去舉辦成功會十週年熊本會二十週年聯合慶祝會。經過兩個演說會內部的決議，正式決定今年十月十一日在台灣桃園舉行盛大的聯合週年慶。本人謹代表76區E部全體會員，再度恭賀成功創立十週年、熊本創立二十週年，祈求未來十年的成功，更希望兩會交流更深厚，更永久的持繼下去，謹表祝賀之意。（成功日本語演講會吳英彥中譯）

成功日本語演説会と熊本トーストマスターズクラブが創立10周年、20周年の合同祝賀会を開催されること、まことにおめでとうございます。私の父は若き日を熊本の五高で過ごし、娘婿は長年台湾でお世話になりました。　そんなこともあって、私はこの町とこの国が好きになりました。その気持ちはトーストマスターズ、Ｄ67とＤ76の友好により更に拍車をかけました。ここに二枚の写真があります。一枚は有名なブレーズパスカル、彼は数学者、物理学者　そして哲学者でもあります。彼が残した有名な言葉があります。 “人間は自然のうちで最も脆い葦でしかない。しかし人間は考える葦である。” もう一枚はオーギュストロダンが彫刻した“考える人”です。京都国立博物館の前庭でその像を見ました。

私はエンジニア、考えることが好き、会社に勤めていた頃はよく特許を出して、発明協会から表彰されたこともありました。やがて私は職を終え、ご縁あり、トーストマスターズクラブに入会いたしました。そして発明だけが考えることではないと思うようになりました。少しでも社会の為に何かを考えようということです。提案があります。トーストマスターズの歌を作るということです。国には国歌があり学校には校歌があります。Sherry Liさんのお話ではD67には歌があるよ、ということでした。素晴らしい。もう一歩進めて　世界のトーストマスターズが一緒に歌える歌があればと思います。英語を基本語として公募するのも一つの方法でしょう。それを各国語に翻訳してもいいでしょう。本日の祝賀会本当におめでとうございます。両クラブのますますのご発展を祈念致します。 Congratulations on the 10^th Anniversary of the Success Japanese Toastmasters Club, Taiwan and the 20^th Anniversary of the Kumamoto Toastmasters Club, Japan. My father used to study at the Fifth High School in Kumamoto when he was young. My son-in-law has worked in Taiwan for many years. That's the reason why I'm fond of the city of Kumamoto and the country of Taiwan. I am happy to see the friendship between District 67 and District 76 blossom. I'll show you two photos. One is Blaise Pascal. He is a mathematician, physicist and philosopher. He said "Man is but a reed, the weakest in nature. But he is a thinking reed." Another is the statue “Thinker” made by Auguste Rodin at the National Museum in Kyoto. I am an engineer. I like thinking. So I applied patents and got some of them. One of them was awarded from Japan Invention Association. Then I retired from the company and entered Toastmasters Club five years ago by a lucky chance. I came to realize that thinking meant not only invention but also making contributions to our society. I’d like to propose to Toastmasters International to make a toastmaster song to unify and motivate fellow members. It will be remembered like the National Anthem, School Song and so on. I wish the Toastmaster song would be sung by all members any time and any place in the world. At last, my heartfelt congratulations for both clubs to continue to develop and prosper in the future. 首先恭賀成功日本語演講會創立10週年與熊本演講會創立20週年之聯合慶典。我的父親在年輕時曾經住過熊本五高，女婿也長年在台灣受照顧，因此我對這城市及國家都有感情，再加上Ｄ67與Ｄ76的互動使友好關係更上一層。在這裡有兩張照片，一張是有名的 blaze pascal，他是數學家、物理學家也是哲學家，他留給世人最有名的一句話是「人類不過是自然界最脆弱的一根蘆葦，可是人類是一枝會思考的蘆葦」另一張是 orcust lodaxn所雕刻的「思考者」放置在京都國立博物館的前庭。我是工程師，喜歡動腦思考，任職中常獲准專利接受發明協會的表揚，退休後有緣加入トーストマスターズクラブ，我覺得不是只有發明才需要動腦筋，也可以多少為社會動動腦。有一提議，那就是幫トーストマスターズ做一首歌，國有國歌校有校歌，Sherry Liさん說D67有專屬的歌，那是件很好的事，如果再進一步，能做一首世界トーストマスターズ專屬的歌就更好了。用英語做基本語，公開幕集也是一個好方法，底定後再翻成各國語言。恭喜今天的週年慶祝會，誠心祝福兩會會務能蓬勃發展。

I am so happy to be here with many of you for our reunion. Yes, we met in January this year. I heard a story of your club foundation. Since the club's charter in 1998, your members overcame many hardships, as if a small child climbed a staircase, one step at a time, a practice after practice to become full fledged. Ten years in which many beautiful flowers came out from the seeds your founders planted, and members worked hard and won speech contests. Ten years in which members overcame difficulties and stumbling blocks. 成功国際日本語演説会（台湾）創立十周年そして熊本トーストマスターズクラブ（日本）創立二十周年を、心からお祝い申し上げます。２つのクラブは、私のトーストマスターズ活動に非常に影響を与えました。２０００年４月２日に、初めて成功国際日本語演説会の皆様にお会いしました。そして、その日が私の母国語である日本語を見直す転換期になりました。日本語で成功国際日本語演説会の皆様と話しますと、日本にいるような気になり、しばらく使っていなかった正しい日本語を、私の記憶から思い出させてくれます。では、私の日常生活はどうでしょう。仕事で相手と交渉話をしていますと、不快な思いをする事が時々あります。そして、私もまた、他人に不快な言葉を発した後、恥ずかしい思いをする事があります。そういう意味で、成功国際日本語演説会の皆様は、私の日本語を最高の状態にしてくれる先生のようです。熊本トーストマスターズクラブの場合は、とにかくメンバーの方がたいへん精力的です。以前は、熊本トーストマスターズクラブと名古屋クラブは同じグループに所属していて、コンテストではよく一緒になりました。あるコンテストでは、コンテスタントが早朝の飛行機で会場にお越しになり、スピーチの結果を確かめる事なく、飛行機の時間に間に合うべく、会場を後にされました。スピーチの発表ため、という一心でお越しになられました。すばらしいではありませんか。私は、成功国際日本語演説会の皆様の正確で的確な言葉を使って、熊本クラブの皆様のように積極的にトーストマスターズの活動に関わって行きたいと考えています。最後に、成功国際日本語演説会と熊本トーストマスターズクラブの皆様にとって、本合同慶祝会が成功し、楽しいものになります事を祈念するのと同時に、更なる成功と幸福の始まりのなる事を、衷心よりお祈り申し上げます。犬塚操夫名古屋トーストマスターズクラブ 2008-2009 会長 Dear members in Success and Kumamoto Toastmasters Club, Congratulations on 10th Anniversary of Success Toastmasters Club, District 67 and 20th Anniversary of Kumamoto Toastmasters club, District 76. Both of clubs have made a tremendous impact on my toastmaster activities. I met Success club members on April 2nd in 2000 for the first time. It became a turning point to learn my mother tongue once again. The communication with them in Japanese felt like being at home. It helped me recall correct words I didn’t use for a while from my memory. Now how about my daily life? I sometimes feel like being uncomfortable when negotiating with opponent in business. I also sometimes give offensive words to others and I’m ashamed of my failure later. In that sense Success club members are a kind of a teacher who tunes up my Japanese. In the case of Kumamoto club, they are very energetic. It was the time when Kumamoto club was the same area as Nagoya club in an alignment. I often saw them in various contests. At one time, a contestant came to a venue by an early plane and left for Kumamoto without hearing the result of the contest by plane. How energetic, only for a speech! I would like to engage in toastmaster activities positively like Kumamoto members by using precise and clear Japanese like Success members. Finally, I would like to wish members of Success Club and Kumamoto Club a successful and enjoyable anniversary and may this great occasion be only the beginning of many more success and happiness. One of them was awarded from Japan Invention Association. Then I retired from the company and entered Toastmasters Club five years ago by a lucky chance. I came to realize that thinking meant not only invention but also making contributions to our society. I’d like to propose to Toastmasters International to make a toastmaster song to unify and motivate fellow members. It will be remembered like the National Anthem, School Song and so on. I wish the Toastmaster song would be sung by all members any time and any place in the world. At last, my heartfelt congratulations for both clubs to continue to develop and prosper in the future. 首先恭賀成功日本語演講會創立10週年與熊本演講會創立20週年之聯合慶典。我的父親在年輕時曾經住過熊本五高，女婿也長年在台灣受照顧，因此我對這城市及國家都有感情，再加上Ｄ67與Ｄ76的互動使友好關係更上一層。在這裡有兩張照片，一張是有名的 blaze pascal，他是數學家、物理學家也是哲學家，他留給世人最有名的一句話是「人類不過是自然界最脆弱的一根蘆葦，可是人類是一枝會思考的蘆葦」另一張是 orcust lodaxn所雕刻的「思考者」放置在京都國立博物館的前庭。我是工程師，喜歡動腦思考，任職中常獲准專利接受發明協會的表揚，退休後有緣加入トーストマスターズクラブ，我覺得不是只有發明才需要動腦筋，也可以多少為社會動動腦。有一提議，那就是幫トーストマスターズ做一首歌，國有國歌校有校歌，Sherry Liさん說D67有專屬的歌，那是件很好的事，如果再進一步，能做一首世界トーストマスターズ專屬的歌就更好了。用英語做基本語，公開幕集也是一個好方法，底定後再翻成各國語言。恭喜今天的週年慶祝會，誠心祝福兩會會務能蓬勃發展。

桃園成功クラブ10周年おめでとうございます。記念すべき会にお招きくださり、1月にお会いした皆様と再会出来るのは本当に嬉しく、とても幸せです。 1998年に創立され軌道に乗るまでは、数々の困難と闘い、階段を一段ずつ登るように時間をかけ練習又練習で上達を目指したと伺っております。創立した方々の苦労が身を結び、スピーチコンテストで入賞されるまでに実力をつけたのは、多くの困難と打ち勝った10年という時間の賜物と思い、創立にかかわった方と会員として努力されている皆様に心から拍手を送ると共に今後も日本語習得に一層励まれることを期待しています。宮島睦子 I would like to convey my hearty congratulations on the Success Toastmasters Club's 10th anniversary. I am so happy to be here with many of you for our reunion. Yes, we met in January this year. I heard a story of your club foundation. Since the club's charter in 1998, your members overcame many hardships, as if a small child climbed a staircase, one step at a time, a practice after practice to become full fledged. Ten years in which many beautiful flowers came out from the seeds your founders planted, and members worked hard and won speech contests. Ten years in which members overcame difficulties and stumbling blocks. 成功国際日本語演説会（台湾）創立十周年そして熊本トーストマスターズクラブ（日本）創立二十周年を、心からお祝い申し上げます。２つのクラブは、私のトーストマスターズ活動に非常に影響を与えました。２０００年４月２日に、初めて成功国際日本語演説会の皆様にお会いしました。そして、その日が私の母国語である日本語を見直す転換期になりました。日本語で成功国際日本語演説会の皆様と話しますと、日本にいるような気になり、しばらく使っていなかった正しい日本語を、私の記憶から思い出させてくれます。では、私の日常生活はどうでしょう。仕事で相手と交渉話をしていますと、不快な思いをする事が時々あります。そして、私もまた、他人に不快な言葉を発した後、恥ずかしい思いをする事があります。そういう意味で、成功国際日本語演説会の皆様は、私の日本語を最高の状態にしてくれる先生のようです。熊本トーストマスターズクラブの場合は、とにかくメンバーの方がたいへん精力的です。以前は、熊本トーストマスターズクラブと名古屋クラブは同じグループに所属していて、コンテストではよく一緒になりました。あるコンテストでは、コンテスタントが早朝の飛行機で会場にお越しになり、スピーチの結果を確かめる事なく、飛行機の時間に間に合うべく、会場を後にされました。スピーチの発表ため、という一心でお越しになられました。すばらしいではありませんか。私は、成功国際日本語演説会の皆様の正確で的確な言葉を使って、熊本クラブの皆様のように積極的にトーストマスターズの活動に関わって行きたいと考えています。最後に、成功国際日本語演説会と熊本トーストマスターズクラブの皆様にとって、本合同慶祝会が成功し、楽しいものになります事を祈念するのと同時に、更なる成功と幸福の始まりのなる事を、衷心よりお祈り申し上げます。犬塚操夫名古屋トーストマスターズクラブ 2008-2009 会長 Dear members in Success and Kumamoto Toastmasters Club, Congratulations on 10th Anniversary of Success Toastmasters Club, District 67 and 20th Anniversary of Kumamoto Toastmasters club, District 76. Both of clubs have made a tremendous impact on my toastmaster activities. I met Success club members on April 2nd in 2000 for the first time. It became a turning point to learn my mother tongue once again. The communication with them in Japanese felt like being at home. It helped me recall correct words I didn’t use for a while from my memory. Now how about my daily life? I sometimes feel like being uncomfortable when negotiating with opponent in business. I also sometimes give offensive words to others and I’m ashamed of my failure later. In that sense Success club members are a kind of a teacher who tunes up my Japanese. In the case of Kumamoto club, they are very energetic. It was the time when Kumamoto club was the same area as Nagoya club in an alignment. I often saw them in various contests. At one time, a contestant came to a venue by an early plane and left for Kumamoto without hearing the result of the contest by plane. How energetic, only for a speech! I would like to engage in toastmaster activities positively like Kumamoto members by using precise and clear Japanese like Success members. Finally, I would like to wish members of Success Club and Kumamoto Club a successful and enjoyable anniversary and may this great occasion be only the beginning of many more success and happiness.
