Great moment & memories ....Toronto 2005 |
| Dear all, I have heard that some of you are complaining about insufficient photos and report of the Toronto convention. So here's some more taken by Poh Kim Siong of D-80. The first one is a local Toronto Chinese newspaper report on Toastmasters from HK, Taiwan, Singapore & Malaysia. The others, after pictures 6 and on are of happy times with overseas groups in particular partying with D-80. Some of the highlights of this year's convention are: 1. Jerry Yang represented D67 in competing in the Overseas Speech Contest. While he did not place, he handled the post competition interview admirably with his relaxed impromptu responses. 2. The Taiwan delegation did an aboriginal song and dance at the International Night (see pictures 2,3,4 &5). 3. Jorie & I were honored at the Golden Gavel Dinner head table along with the top 12 districts in the world. Thank you all for making this memorable event possible. 4. Last but not least, at the Overseas Non-breakfast Breakfast Meeting, yours truly declared his candidacy for the position of International Director for District Not Assigned To Region (outside of N. America). With the formal nomination from our D67 Council meeting in November, I will start my year long campaign. 2006 International Convention in Washington DC will be my moment of truth. I look forward to your support by making sure 100% of your proxy votes saved and collected. Enjoy a fun and productive year ahead.
