Dear Club Presidents

The Toastmasters Educational Program contains a project called "High Performance Leadership" (HPL). The Purpose is to allow a member the flexibility to choose a project and execute the steps to achieve the desired objectives. Completion of the HPL fulfills requirements for the ALS Advanced Leader Silver award. However, a member can start this project any time during their Toastmasters journey. He or she does not need to wait until completion of ALB or any other awards.

This event will be conducted mostly in Chinese as an introduction to the HPL project. Two experienced members who just completed their HPL project last term will share their personal experience and offer an explanation of the steps and requirements for following the manuals. The projects can be professional, personal, or Toastmasters related. The scope and parameters are all determined by the member conducting the project. The project should not be something that can be accomplished by one person along. A team of advisors serve provide support and guidance throughout the duration of the project. Div. G can assist in finding the most suitable advisors.

Please encourage your officers to consider taking on a HPL project as their goals for this year. A club contest, an outing, a party, a special meeting, even a membership campaign can be considered HPL projects. The topics don't have to be long and big such as organizing the Spring Conference.
