Greetings!
On behalf of the District team, I’d like to warmly welcome all
of you to the 2011-12 Toastmasters year.
謹代表總會團隊，誠摯地歡迎大家與我們一起邁入國際演講會2011-12年度。
Time flies!
It is already August. The District team has been working really
hard in order to serve all of you better.
時間過得真快，轉眼已經是八月了！總會團隊上任以來，一直認真致力於為大家提供更好的服務。
On May 25,
I invited the 2011-12 District team to meet in Kaohsiung for the
first time. During that meeting, all division governors were
able to give a report on the status analysis of their own
division. They also shared their thoughts of the visions toward
their individual division. I was deeply touched by their
enthusiasm to serve and the pride they have for this privileged
opportunity. We also set up the 2011-12 calendar which is
already posted on our District website.
5月25日我邀請了2011-12年度的總會團隊於高雄舉行第一次聚會。在那次的聚會中，即使還沒正式上任，所有的部總監都已經能夠針對自己的分部提供現況分析報告，並且也分享了各自的願景。他們服務的熱忱，以及對於能有這份殊榮的驕傲感，讓我深受感動。會中我們也制定了2011-12年度的行事曆，並且已經公告在總會的網站。
July was
the busiest month for District trio. Starting from July 2, every
weekend the district trio was always on the road to give club
officer training in different division. I was very happy to meet
all the officers attending the training. They learned eagerly
and fully concentrated. They participated in group discussion
and shared experiences and thoughts actively. I would say we had
a very successful round of club officer training and officers
trained left with satisfaction and are ready to serve their club
members. And I would like to take this opportunity to thank all
the officers responsible for the training in each division. It
is with your devotion and support that make the first club
officer training complete.
七月是兩位副總會長以及我最忙碌的月份。從7月2日開始，每個週末我們三人一定是奔走於各分部，為各分會的幹部提供幹部訓練。我很高興能有這個機會跟參加訓練的所有幹部們見面。這些幹部們專注又積極的學習；他們熱烈參與分組討論並交換經驗。我認為我們的第一次幹部訓練非常成功，受訓的幹部們都滿足地滿載而歸，準備為會員們提供最好的服務。在此我要對各分部負責籌劃訓練的所有幹部們，致上深深的謝意與最高的敬意。因為有您們的付出與支持，第一次分會幹部訓練才能圓滿完成。
Starting
this year, we add evaluation form to our trainings. The form
provides the opportunity for members to give feedback in regard
of the training, including the facilitators, content,
presentation skills, venues, and so on. Please do spare a few
minutes to write the evaluation form so that we can improve to
provide better trainings and meet your needs better.
今年度開始，我們針對所有的訓練都做了評估表。這份表格提供機會讓會員們針對訓練，包括講師、內容、表達技巧、場地等等，提供意見與建議。請大家務必花幾分鐘的時間用心填寫評估表，好讓我們能針對您的需求，有所改進提供更好的訓練。
Yesterday,
the Toastmasters International sent out a notice that starting
Oct. 2011, the annual fee will be increased from US$54 to US$72.
The increment is US$18 for a year. This equals to NT$500. I know
this will somehow bring impact to all of us. So we need to work
hard, provide better service to satisfy members’ need so that
members will stay and continue their membership. It is also
important for club officers to re-evaluate the membership fee of
their individual club and make sure club finance is in good
condition.
昨天世界總會寄來一封信，通知我們自2011年10月起，世界總會的年費將從一年54美元調漲為72美元，一年將增加18美元，約等於台幣500元。我知道這多少會帶給大家衝擊。所以我們必須更認真努力、提供更好的服務來滿足會員們的需求，好讓會員們願意繼續留在國際演講會這個大家庭。針對此一變動，分會幹部們請務必重新評估自己分會目前所設定的年費，是否足夠維持分會財務平衡。
Besides
this change, the Toastmasters International is doing the
rebranding. A new logo has been created and will be officially
launched on Aug. 17. This is done with a hope to promote
Toastmasters better globally. In order to have a unified image,
from now on, there will only be a global theme: “Toastmasters
International, Where Leaders Are Made”. The Toastmasters
International asks District Governors not to have their own
yearly theme. This is why some of our members wonder what the
yearly theme of District 67 is this year.
除此之外，世界總會正在更換識別徽章。新的標章將於8月17日在世界年會中正式揭露。世界總會這麼做，是希望能更提昇國際演講會在世界各地的知名度。為了讓國際演講會在世界各地都有一致的形象，往後將只會有一個全球統一的主題：「國際演講會，領袖的搖籃」。世界總會要求各地區總會長從此不要再各自設立年度主題，這也是為什麼大家會不清楚District
67今年的年度主題到底是什麼的原因。
As the
District Governor, my vision is to create a down-to-earth,
fear-free, and enjoyable learning environment with solid
foundation and reinstate the distinguished status for District
67. I sincerely hope that we will all work together, hand in
hand, “Moving One
Step Forward” in Toastmasters journey and in personal
life.
身為總會長，我的願景是創造一個務實、踏實、紮實，免於恐懼又愉快的學習環境，並且讓District
67再度恢復「傑出地區總會」的榮銜。誠摯地希望我們大家攜手同心、共同努力，在演講會生涯以及個人生涯都能「穩步邁進」。
